AROSE’s Virtual and In-person STEM Training and Awareness (AVISTA) Program
AVISTA is a free, curriculum linked initiative providing students in years 7 – 12 with direct insights into STEM and defence industry careers. It explores how defence industries use aviation, robotics, AI and autonomous systems, and how an interest in these fields can translate to a career in the advanced and high-tech jobs of tomorrow.

School Visits
AVISTA will be bringing free in-person science and STEM careers shows to over 200 high schools across Australia (including rural and regional areas) in 2025.

AVISTA Challenge
The AVISTA Challenge will see students competing to tackle a real-world defence industry challenge to win a share of prize money.
The AVISTA Challenge launches on Monday, 28 April 2025.


// RESOURCES
Teacher Professional Development and Online Resources
Teachers, students and their parents will have access to a vast library of resources illustrating STEM careers and providing direct insights into defence industry career pathways.
This includes our VR Hub, where students will be able to engage in real world defence industry challenges such as flight and aircraft maintenance.
// CAREERS
Career Hub Events
We will be hosting interactive career events in collaboration with our project partners and local defence industry representatives in Perth, Cairns and Newcastle.

Supported by the Department of Defence’s School Pathways Program, AVISTA will deliver a range of exciting learning experiences to students, their teachers and families throughout 2025, to help develop Australia’s STEM talent pipeline by providing direct insights into defence industry career pathways.
AVISTA is an initiative of AROSE, delivered in partnership with Fizzics Education, Gilmour Space Technologies, Gunggandji Aerospace, Illuminate FN, Joseph Banks Secondary College, Nova Systems, and University of Western Australia Defence and Security Institute.
