Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) Operator

Jai is a UAS operator flying tactical drones used for reconnaissance during disaster recovery operations. He monitors live feeds, plans flight paths, and ensures safe operation in difficult environments. His job requires technical precision and a deep understanding of airspace safety. Jai completed a Certificate III and IV in Aviation (Remote Pilot) after volunteering with surf lifesaving where he flew drones to spot rips.

Pathways: 

  • Certificate III or IV in Aviation (Remote Pilot) 
  • CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) required 
  • On-the-job defence-specific training
