AVISTA will be bringing free, in-person science and STEM career shows to over 200 high schools across Australia, including rural and regional areas

Running for 60 minutes, the AVISTA Show will explore:

Flight and aviation
Rockets and propulsion systems
Autonomous systems and situational awareness
The importance of STEM
Pathways into defence industry careers

The show will be delivered by our project partner and award-winning provider of interactive science workshops, Fizzics Education, and will include an exciting Virtual Reality challenge where teachers and students will fly a virtual plane and race to complete aircraft maintenance.

The show is targeted at years 9-10, but can be delivered to years 7-12. It is designed to be delivered in a large space, such as a hall, for up to 300 students at a time (or more if space permits).

The AVISTA Show is aligned with the ACARA 7-10 Curriculum, as well as state based Syllabuses. Full details of the program’s curriculum links can be found here.

NT: Darwin & Katherine
WA: Starting in Kununurra to Broome, south along the coast to Perth, then to Esperance, Albany & Kalgoorlie

TERM 3

NSW: Sydney & Surrounds, Hunter, North Coast and Northern Rivers
VIC: Melbourne & Surrounds
QLD: Gold Coast, Brisbane then travelling north along the coast to Port Douglas & Mission River.

TERM 4

NSW: Hunter, Central West, Riverina & South Coast
ACT & Surrounds
VIC: Melbourne & Surrounds
SA: Adelaide, Mount Gambier & Port Augusta
TAS: Hobart, Launceston, Devonport, Southport, Burnie & Queenstown
